A whole state, where life runs smoothly, is concerned when their beloved King gets seriously injured. Therapists of every kind, from all over the world, come to the rescue. They succeed, at the expense, however, of his permanent disability and the obligation to move only with the help of a pair of crutches. Then the king gives the order: “Everyone must walk with crutches otherwise be sentenced to death”. Thus, after some time no one walks like they did before. One day a foreigner, who still walks without crutches, appears and calls people to do the same.
So this is how we landed as a group in the incredible and diverse landscape of the world of theatre. Our forever and ever favorite creators-Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin- were our inspiration for turning this memorable folktale from India, of numerous characters, kingsmen, witches, palaces, cities, jungles and adventures, into an early 20’s urban silent comedy with live piano music. This timeless parable always reminds us of the challenges of liberty, freedom of thought and expression, human rights and true human needs.
